Undoing The Judgment of The Barrier of Language
I was driving in my car, listening to the radio, and I heard a story that caught my attention. It was about a new device called the “Pilot,” made by Waverly Labs. This device can immediately translate languages between two people who are speaking in real time. I kept listening as they talked about how it will change the way people work and interact, and how it could even provide a way for relationships to exist where they couldn’t have in the past.
The video that I later watched shows two people having a conversation with very little lag between the translations. The actual package that you can buy is for a smart phone. It contains two ear pieces (one for each person) and the software needed to run the program. This device will be able to translate five languages out of the box: English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. They are currently working to add “Germanic, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian and Slavic, East Asian, and African languages.” The pilot is scheduled for release in seven months, May of 2017.
“Just think of the implications of this world-changing device.”
That’s just one of the headlines that caught my eye. The world is literally moving our heads, moving faster and faster, exponentially picking up speed with all of its inventions and creations. A lot of them outright claim to better the world for the total good of mankind. They speak of how to finally be able to bring everyone together to solve all its problems. The world is full of this message especially in these times when there is not a single place that doesn’t have instant access to another part of the world.
This concept of the world coming together and working together is not new. Lots of people may argue that all these creations are going to work for our good; they’ve already made it easy for us to come together and form a “global village.” I am not here to argue or take sides, but to simply point out the facts. The fact is that this pilot device will break down the barriers of language God created as judgment on the people in the days of Nimrod. In Genesis 11:1-9 God says:
“And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”
The bible says that, just like when men gathered under Nimrod’s command to usurp God, the Antichrist will lead all of mankind on earth to Armageddon where they will have it out once and for all. It also says that man will continually blaspheme God and still will not repent of their doings. He saw that when man came together, all they wanted to do was make a name for themselves. They wanted to do everything their way and to replace God in the process. God saw this and knew that, given time, there was nothing man couldn’t do. So he confused the language of all the people and scattered them abroad throughout the earth. This happened approximately 4500 years ago, and after all those years man has invented a way to break down the barriers of language. No longer will people have to be multilingual or wait to have things translated into their native tongue. They can now have everything translated in their ear in real time.
This all comes to mind just from hearing about this pilot device. People will write it off as a cool invention of modern technological genius. But is it really just a cool invention for the good of Man? To those who pay attention to the signs of Jesus’ return, they will have to conclude otherwise. The “pilot” device speaks of a great judgment that man is trying to erase. It also speaks of prophetic things to come in the end. Things that we know, after looking at The Word of God, aren’t too far off.
