This Witchcraft An Asinine Recreation
Simultaneously with the election of Donald Trump as president, California, Massachusetts, Maine and Nevada decided to make recreational use of marijuana legal. Four other states voted to approve marijuana for medical purposes. I don’t know which legalization is more delusional.
As far as it being legalized for medical purposes. Anything marijuana can do medically can certainly be accomplished by some other means without the repercussions, side effects or temptations known to be connected with marijuana use. And, as far as recreational use goes the threat of addiction, either psychological or physical is unecessary let alone worth the risk. People can listen to music, go to a comedy show, read Confucius jokes online, play pinochle with friends, do some crocheting, get into football, baseball, soccer or women’s golf, or try helping a friend or neighbor – or some kids in need.
Instead, the number of adults who smoke or eat weed in the US of A while twiddling their idle fingers has nearly doubled in the last three years. A Gallup poll released in August reported that pot is the number one illicit drug of choice among Americans. According to the 2014 National Survey on Drug Use declared that one third of marijuana users reported they were addicted to it. When voters make it legal it naturally is no longer the most used illicit drug; but it does not change the fact that great portions of its users become addicted to a drug. That in itself is a serious problem. Addiction to anything means that the subject is controlled by that thing and no longer in control of the choices they must make. That includes things like commitment, responsibility, belief, choices, love, or just about anything they confront or must confront.
Actually, one-third of users is not even close to being realistic. I know from personal experience that pot devotees are notoriously naive and blind about their own personal realities of addiction. I don’t know what the numbers are, no one is privy to the real percentage of numbers of marijuana addicts because users themselves don’t even know. For every one of them who admits to addiction there is more than one who says they are not actually addicted. All I know from my association with MJ users is that the number of addicted MJ users is far closer to 100 percent than it is to 33 percent.
More frightening is that MJ use is the tip of the iceberg. American society has been, and is fast becoming more and more addictive and neurotic in general. What does it matter if an addiction is to something subject to government regulation or a government handout or a drug, or alcohol. Pot smoking is just an expression of what America has come to believe; a dependent nation, succumbing to the laziness of addiction – letting government dictate what is right and wrong, what to believe, how to spend your time and on what. Now that pot is being legalized people are kidding themselves that it must be a benign matter; harmless as ingesting cane sugar, a right like eating wonder bread, which we were told would give us strong bones.
Thirty-five years ago first lady Nancy Reagan’s War on Drugs was sincere and needed. A war that she and America lost. A defeat that has had far more devastating effects on this nation than the one lost contemporaneously in Southeast Asia. Mrs. Reagan was right to have a heartfelt hatred of drugs because of the effects it was having especially on the motivation and conscious respect of young men and women for responsible social behavior that included giving a hoot about other people’s needs. It wasn’t too long after Nancy’s War on Drugs, however, that things relaxed on Mary Jane and what people then knew was ‘the gateway drug’ to bigger and more fiendish deadly drug use.
Thirty years later First Lady Obama was devoting her eight year reign feeding the vast numbers of undernourished American school kids who were underfed. The reason malnutrition was winning the war was largely due to the universal drug problems of the generations of parents who have been undernourished by economy due to lack of money and jobs and dependence due to drugs and the curse of idleness.
Furthermore, voting in marijuana for recreational use is not only stupid, it is hypocritical. The whole thing is a bad joke. If all those drugs of choice, from heroin to pot, are not medicinal – they must be recreational. So, for recreational purpose, not health or medicinal, are being prefered over food for kids. Many of the children taken from parents by government agencies are due to out of control ‘recreational’ drug use. You don’t need government statistics to tell you this, either. Just look at the stats in your home state. All I need is a set of eyeballs, two ears and a meagerly functioning brain to not listen to the irreverent stand up comedy of a silly weed that is being breathed into the lungs and flowing through the bloodstream.
The issues the first lady must now deal with are sadly not about social responsibility but matters of food and shelter for underprivileged children from broken up homes, often left decimated by fall-out from some sort of drug situation: either use, dealing drugs, usually both. Results: the degradation of life, broken families and discarded marriages as if they were a spring fashion to be replaced with the changing of the weather. And who pays the price? Children. Children of all ages, in all places, from all creeds, of all strata and every race and nationality, the children of the haves and the have nots. For what drugs is doing and has done, the authorities and the uncaring rich must shoulder their part of the blame. And, the middle and lower middle classes are not without their own share of blame. The downright poor and disenfranchised are the victims not only of their own excesses but of the slothful concern of the middle and upper classes of American society. And, most important, all the children are innocent victims — the only innocent victims. The government is also deceived. All are victimized, by the great sorcery of drugs that thing which the Bible prophesied would take place on the earth – especially in the end times.
The deception of drugs would become a world-wide deception. Who can deny that this has, and is taking place around the world in these times.
God gives it just a little all inclusive word at the end of the bible when He says of the sorcery of drugs: “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.“ Rev. 18:23
It has been a long time since I puffed on a dubbie, dropped some acid or clowned around in the inane stupidity of the bogus surreal nonsense of my mind. Ever since I saw that the bible advised me to ‘be not filled with wine but with the (Holy) Spirit” I have cut the crap. I have jettisoned the selfishness of drug-dumb. And I am proud of it. Why shouldn’t I be?
Now that the above states have followed recreational marijuana use with the capital of our country, and the District of Columbia; and Colorado and Washington state, which had voted yes in 2012, along with Alaska and Oregon approving it in 2014; the floodgates for approving addictive drug use for non-medical reasons, i.e. recreation, have been opened and will never be shut. The whole of the United States is destined to do this incredible thing for no other reason than the love of recreational addiction. The USA has cast aside simple regard for social responsibility as if it were a used cigarette butt. Who cares about the defenseless young and the fears of the underprivileged vulnerables? Why worry about families or any thing to do with the grave responsibilities of providing for the framework of the superhuman tasks of parenting in these crazy overwhelming days? Oh, I know let’s legalize the real life ‘theatre of the absurd’, just to make the job of parenting all the harder than it already is. How about if in these flubadub days we issue license to wackadoos so they can thumb their noses at reality; and tell everyone they’re doing it in the name of freedom.
Now here we are. Any wisdom our forefathers owned has gone up in smoke; replaced by feel good mental hallucinations and self-induced sorceries of nonsense. The Bible has declared that the whole world would be deceived by the spirit of pharmacia. Drugs rule, baby! They rule over life and health. Check it out, man! Get hip! They rule in military, in psychiatry, in hospitals, in food production – just about any paradigm of importance that one can name. Espionage uses it. Sports uses it for good, bad and indifference; but always for self gain; the rules of fair play be damned. I don’t know what the exact percentage of religious professionals is who use mental and antidepressant drugs – but I know it’s frighteningly high.
It is now every man and woman for themselves. Do what feels good. It’s the new millennium.
Nothing can stop the fairy land hallucinogenic of dope from advancing. Now, many other states will fall like dominoes, will not only allow, but foment the malnourishment of this inane addictive recreational drug, which is constantly used by the spirits it produces to not give a flying fig about others, but to have a good time amusing itself with asinine stupidity or even worse. At least none of us are yet required to use drugs that only foment unrealistic ideas for personal and social good. It is Nietzsche’s antichrist madness that God is Dead encouraging people to the self-destruction of morons who sit about the bong singing, “Let us eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die!
The EOE however advises believers to avoid this self deception, do something more constructive, like true religion for example. The Bible declares that “real religion is to visit the widows and the fatherless; and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” It’s not to gaze into tea leaves, or devise some Kurt Vonnegutian goofy meaning of life.
