Death of a Neighbor
The death of my neighbor’s daughter brought on by the results of drugs was very tragic, but what happened in the aftermath unnecessarily poured further sorrow on top of the wounds suffered by the family.
The tragedy began with a young adult found hung in her room which was shared with her boyfriend in his parent’s garage.
The news that my neighbor received from the police was that her daughter died in an apparent suicide. Since it was Sunday night and the local morgue was closed, the body was sent to a close by city to be examined. There the victim’s mother was not told any details or cause of death, but that an investigation was underway and that they were not permitted to tell her anything until the investigation was completed. She didn’t understand why they were investigating the apparent suicide, but the investigators refrained from responding to any of her questions or concerns. The stonewall was ongoing inexplicably for a matter of weeks.
In the meantime, during the ensuing weeks, she heard a rumor apparently that her daughter’s hands and feet had been bound; when she contacted the authorities and asked them about it they replied with a shrug of the shoulders and said nothing could be said until they finished the investigation.
She went back to the funeral home where her daughter’s body was where she was denied her right to see the body to determine if her daughter’s wrists had been bound. In denying the request the funeral director used the excuse that the body after death can have lots of bruising, so effectively it was not within the scope of her abilities to make any judgments; and therefore because of the pending investigation she could not view the body.
She had a bad feeling that the truth of what was going on was not being told to her. Nothing was adding up. The body being sent away, questions being avoided and not being able to view her wrists; were they attempts at covering up the truth? The mounting horror started to haunt her.
During the course of all this she found out that her daughter’s boyfriend had been arrested for trying to strangle her two weeks prior to her “suicide”. The details of the incident and why and how he was released without any consequences have been withheld from the family to this day. The police didn’t say anything to the mother saying she didn’t have the right to any information because they couldn’t find the truth. Are you kidding me? No right to know anything?
It stretches credulity. Who should believe one word of it?
How tragic for the mother not to have a right to know for sure if her daughter committed suicide or if she was murdered. What a huge difference that makes to the victim’s mother and father, her children and siblings. Why should they have to go through life wondering, was she so bad off that she couldn’t reach out for help and gave up on everything? Or that someone murdered her and the killer is free to live (and possibly kill again) just because the truth was too hard to find out, to say, “Well she was a junky and that’s what you get?” It boggles my mind that the police would let her even suffer through wondering these things without trying to console her with what little they did know.
Since this happened, a couple months have passed and the conclusion of the police investigation is that the daughter was a drug addict and did indeed commit suicide. It was told to me by the mother that they found out the boyfriend was leaving her for another woman and that her supply of Benzodiazepines and heroin that he supplied her with was cut off from her very suddenly and the side effect was suicide. Resulting in leaving a path of devastation for all the people that loved and cared about her. Not to mention the three children she had abandoned years previously because of her drug addictions. In the end, she only cared about her drugs. That is only one effect of the seduction of drugs. People are capable of anything under their influence: lying, cheating, stealing, abandoning children, hurting family members, prostitution and even murder. Anything for a quick fix. Satanic!
The Lord showed me the irony in it all. When my son was in kindergarten the teachers put a lot of pressure on me to put him on Ritalin because he was so active. I said no. The doctor tried to convince me it would help me if I did: he in fact put his overactive boys on it and said it helped them a lot and that a lot of children are put on Ritalin and it is making a big difference. I couldn’t believe my ears. The schools and doctors putting pressure on me to put my child on drugs. These are people in society that have influence in this world and they have given themselves over to the seduction of drugs. How awful to start life off at a young age and be put on drugs.
I also worked with special needs children at one time and was appalled that two young girls, ten years old, were on antidepressants because they got upset easily. Are you kidding me? Another child of 11 years old was on strong psych meds because he was autistic and turned to violence so they kept trying different experimental meds on him not knowing what the effects would be. What a crazy world. What chance do these kids have? Growing up on drugs like that before their brains even have a chance to finish developing. They walked around like zombies with their eyes glazed over. How can society think this is ok?
People are all falling under Satan’s sorcery of Pharmakeia and using drugs for everything. The Lord said in the end days everyone would be deceived by Pharmakeia and now I see it’s true. “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.” Rev 18:23 The Greek word for sorceries used here is pharmakeia, from which we get pharmacy and the word drugs. Those times spoken of in Revelation and elsewhere in scripture are now upon us, upon the whole world. God’s word is true. The proof is it is a done deal and everyone is into drugs in this world. It is a big industry here in the United States. Now the government is even legalizing some drugs in order to try to get some control of the out-of-controlness of it all. How does that make sense??
Opioids are one of the biggest problems next to heroin, and they are prescription drugs. Doctors are some of the biggest drug pushers in the USA and most, if not all of them, know it. Everyone knows they get kick-backs from the drug companies by pushing certain drugs. But who cares?
The politicians get paid by the big drug companies and the FDA to push drugs along the approval process without really going through proper testing. It’s a vicious predicament this country and world is in. There is no thought or regard to life and the effects on people with what they are doing. It boils down to money. Every one from the developers, doctors, drug dealers to users are all guilty of the part they have played in this drug infested world and the bottom line is money. There is no reforming this. It is totally out of control. The best that can be done is to pretend that it can be reformed.
There is only one hope to get out of this wretched mess. Turn to Jesus Christ (the only saviour) and call on him out of a true heart to save you from this present evil world. Otherwise, it will eat you alive without giving a damn.
Like my unfortunate neighbor who has had to raise her daughter’s children because of her daughter’s addiction. She had hopes that perhaps someday her daughter could turn this around, but now all hope for that is gone. Spirits are behind the drugs – but people and society have given them license. I know God is using all these things that are happening to her to get her to turn to him so perhaps she and others can be saved.
I hope dear reader you will turn to Jesus before it’s too late for you. We aren’t promised tomorrow or even to the end of this very day. In Christ Jesus there are lots of promises for life. You can have life more abundantly and be able to walk in the truth of what is really happening to you. Jesus himself tells us he is the truth. He tells us what is going on and what to do about it. Therein lies peace, life and liberty. Free to do God’s will like Jesus did and have the best friend you could ever have – Jesus Christ. That doesn’t mean that you won’t have battles in this life. You definitely will if you walk with Jesus. In some ways the battle will just begin. But Jesus says he has overcome the world, and so can you with His aid and comfort.
