The Start of Antichrist Man and Empire
Nimrod is the archetype of Antichrist. He and his family became the first artificial trinity vying with God for power over the earth. He is also the first Antichrist and thereby represents the prototype and fountain of the conspiracy to usurp God’s throne and to become the undisputed sovereign of the world, and by default he would become the savior of the world and all of mankind. Nimrod is therefore, the originator and face of the post-Flood rebellion that opposes the sovereignty of God.
The conspiracy to usurp God’s majesty was promoted by Satan himself but revolved around Nimrod as the supreme one, his wife Semiramis as mother of God and their child Tammuz, who was to promoted as the savior of mankind. Nimrod claimed control over Man’s destiny in pernicious fashion as a tyrannical despot and using mankind as puppets for his fancy.
In Nimrod we can discover the root and fountain of all Antichrist conspiracies wherever they have spread throughout the globe.
Nimrod is the legendary one, the fashioner and builder of the Tower of Babel and the one responsible for God separating people by language. The North American natives, the Toltecs and Aztecs, The Celts, Gauls, the Polynesians, Ethiopians, cultures from Asia, Africa and even the Eskimos and aborigines of Australia have stories in their own language about a tower and those who defied the authority and power of the heavens. They relate the same story of a figure larger than life, a man who conspired to rally the people against God and to build a tower to ascend to heaven in order to throw off the burden of heavenly authority and to install their invincible leader who spearheaded the revolt to usurp the supreme authority which belongs only to God to themselves.
Ancient historians commented on Nimrod’s career in the east before he brought his “nation” to the land of Shinar. The historian Justin, reported in The History of Roman Writings, that Nimrod, “strengthened the greatness of his acquired dominion by continued possession. Having subdued, therefore his neighbors, when, by an accession of forces, being still further strengthened, he went forth against other tribes, and every new victory paved the way for another, he subdued all the peoples of the east.” Trogus Pompeius said of Nimrod that he, “first changed the contented moderation of the ancient manners, and incited by a new passion, the desire of conquest. He was the first who carried on war against his neighbors … as they were yet unacquainted with the arts of war.”
The unanimous consensus of ancient voices tell of Nimrod as a mighty warrior, the first to rebel against God’s hatred of slavery, to enslave men to his will by either force or charm. Once under his spell or in his iron grasp he trained his people in laborious hardships and exercises. In this way Nimrod subjects were inured to the toils of deadly servitude and the rigors of war.
All of this, Nimrod initiated by his personal brilliance, and by the help of his master, Satan. These are common characteristics of Antichrist which will be fulfilled by the ultimate Antichrist at the end.
After the Flood God had commanded man to scatter over the face of the earth and replenish it, but Nimrod convinced them that this was a ploy of God’s to keep Man weak and at His mercy, so he could destroy them at His whim. The people, seduced by pride (the mother-load of all sin) fell for Nimrod’s false claim.
“And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.”
They were determined to make a name for themselves that would free them from God’s proclamations and would tender them the power to control the world as well as their own destiny. They made their own religion in the horoscope of the stars and Nimrod installed himself as master of their destiny. They had come together under his leadership and had defied God’s command to scatter and replenish the earth. This Nimrod accomplished through his antichrist personality, his insight and strength, by military genius, preaching, and an inglorious charisma.
